EDINBURGH
I have been to Edinburgh from 10th Aug. to 25th. I Chose it because its one of the most beautiful and interesting cities in Europe. You can find great castles, museums, galleries, monuments, traditional shops and pubs (Life music is great).
During the festival (in August) there is a huge diversity of attractions and shows at any time. Go to the Royal Mile, Grassmarket...
If you want to go shopping Princes street has a great range of shops and department stores.
For city views you can walk by Calton Hill or Edinburgh Castle.
In the centre of the town there are a lot of eating places, from Scottish to Spanish, French, Italian, Indian...
If you dare to try "haggies", a typical traditional Scottish food, a mixture of liver, heart and visceras of a lamb... It sounds tasty, isn't it?
Don't worry, supermarkets are everywhere!
SCHOOL AND RESIDENCE
The school was Regent Edinburgh in Chester street (in the centre of the city).
The first day we did a level test and a quiz about how much we knew about Scotland. The classes started at 9.00 am and ended at 13:00 p.m. After classes we had free time to visit the city. At the weekend, we went to the Highlands. We made our way to the Stirling Castle, Glencoe, Fort William, Inverness, Loch Ness...
I stayed in a summer residence for the two weeks (Warrender Park Road). Walking to the city centre or the school could take as little as 25 minutes.
My experience was very exciting and I had a good time in spite of the weather.
